Revolutionary Advances in Manipur
Partisan #28 • October 5, 2012
The Partisan is happy to share news of the formation, on September 21, of the New People’s Militia (NPM) by the Maoist Communist Party, Manipur (MCP).
The state of Manipur was annexed by force by India in 1949; since then, it has developed as a colonial and semi-feudal state. In this context, the MCP has become one of the largest armed groups in that area.
In its statement, the party emphasizes the need to overcome the revisionist idea that revolution is possible without violence. It upholds Lenin’s teachings that “war is the inevitable result of the exploitative system” and that “the imperialist system is the source of modern war.” The party grasps Mao’s conclusion that “revolution means the use of revolutionary violence by oppressed classes, that means revolutionary war.” According to the MCP, it is impossible to make revolution and emancipate from imperialism without taking up arms.
The MCP is firmly committed to the Maoist strategy of protracted people’s war. Its New People’s Militia will conduct guerrilla activity with the ultimate goal is the formation of a people’s army.
The MCP is part of the international communist movement. The MCP openly upholds the revolutionary experiences of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) and the Communist Party of Peru, which for them are the most advanced expressions of the Maoist theory of people’s war.
The Revolutionary Communist Party (PCR-RCP Canada) celebrates the formation of the New People’s Militia as it will undoubtedly stimulate and advance the revolutionary struggle and it will foster unity of the global revolutionary forces under the banner of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism.
